Inter Schools' Sports 2015 - 2016
At St Ann's, we aim to provide the children with as many opportunities to take part in competitive sport as possible. Here are just a few examples of what has taken place so far this year.
Road to Rio
24 children from KS2 took part in the Warrington Road to Rio games during the summer term. The children competed in football, quad kids and tennis against 19 other schools from across the town. The children performed extremely well across all disciplines.
Cheshire football finals
The year 5/6 football team represented Warrington in the Cheshire, small schools finals in Crewe. During the competition the team finished top of their league without conceding a goal. They then progressed to the semi finals where they beat Bridgemere 1-0. In the final they lost a very tight game 0-1 to Delamere. The team were outstanding throughout and the school are very proud of their acievements
Cheshire 7's Rugby
The school have once again taken part in the Warrington Wolves pre match school's tournament. The school played Culcheth Primary in their first game and ran out 5-1 winners. More games will follow in the coming weeks.
BOLD Quicksticks Hockey
Year 5 and year 6 children took part in the recent quicksticks Hockey tournament at Beamont Collegiate Academy. The event took place against local BOLD cluster schools. Many of the children had no previous match experience but acquited themselves well. The children contested every match and showed great sportsmanship throughout. The year 5 team finished third and the Year 6 team ran out as overall winners. Well done.
Key Steps Gymnastics
The school represented the BOLD cluster of schools in the Warrington finals of the key steps gymnastics competition. 5 children represented the school and performed 2 floor routines and a vault. The children had been practising for several months and preformed fantasticaly well on the day.
Year 3/4 Sports-hall Athletics
Recently the Y3/4 children have taken part in the BOLD sportshall athletics competition. The children performed extremely well and were narrowly beaten into 2nd place. Well done!
Cheshire Hockey Finals
The year 5/6 Hockey team have represented Warrington at the Cheshire Hockey finals in Crewe. The competition was very tough and although the children were extremely challenged, they fought well in every game. Well done.
Year 5/6 Football
Years 5 and 6 have recently played in the ESFA small schools competition in Warrington. The boys performed fantastically well and finished runners up in the competition. They will now go forward to represent Warrington in the county finals later in the year.
Level 2 Warrington Hockey finals
Following on from the success of the BOLD competition, the hockey team competed in the level 2 Warrington competition. The children won their league and the winning decision went to points won. The team came joint second on points but had a -1 goal difference with Culcheth. The children were fantastic throughout and only conceded 1 goal and remained unbeaten. The result qualified them for the Cheshire schools finals.
